Picked, not tested. Everything here is something I would buy, chosen on specs, makers and reputation rather than hands-on reviews. Some links earn us a commission at no extra cost to you; it never decides what makes the list. How we pick
Big LEGO sets get measured in pieces. We wanted to know which ones actually take up the most shelf. So we ranked every official LEGO set we could find by its assembled length, using the dimensions LEGO publishes (and Brickset for the retired ones).
The short answer: in 2026 a Star Wars ship took the crown from a real one, by one centimetre.
| # | Set | Length | Pieces | Status (Oct 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Executor Super Star Destroyer (75457) | 136 cm (53.5 in) | 6,130 | On sale |
| 2 | Titanic (10294) | 135 cm (53 in) | 9,090 | On sale (backorder) |
| 3 | UCS Super Star Destroyer (10221) | 124.5 cm (49 in) | 3,152 | Retired (2011) |
| 4 | Hogwarts Express, Collectors’ Edition (76405) | 118 cm (46.5 in) | 5,129 | Retired |
| 5 | The Orient Express Train (21344) | 116 cm (45.7 in) | 2,540 | Retired |
| 6 | Technic Liebherr Crawler Crane LR 13000 (42146) | 110 cm (43 in) | 2,883 | Retired |
| 7 | UCS Imperial Star Destroyer (75252) | 110 cm (43 in) | 4,784 | Retired |
| 8 | UCS Venator-class Republic Attack Cruiser (75367) | 109 cm (43 in) | 5,374 | Sold out, retiring |
| 9 | Concorde (10318) | 105 cm (41.5 in) | 2,083 | On sale |
| 10= | Tower Bridge (10214) | 102 cm (40 in) | 4,287 | Retired |
| 10= | Diagon Alley (75978) | 102 cm (40 in) | 5,544 | Retired |
1. Executor Super Star Destroyer (75457): 136 cm
Darth Vader’s flagship is the new record holder at 53.5 inches long. It beats Titanic by about a centimetre, which is the kind of margin only LEGO fans and Imperial engineers care about. It is also on our LEGO page.
Executor Super Star Destroyer (75457)
2. Titanic (10294): 135 cm
The longest set ever made until the Executor arrived, and still the one with the most pieces in the top three: 9,090. It splits into three sections so you can see inside.
Titanic (10294)
3 to 8: the retired giants
Most of the list is sets you can no longer buy new. The 2011 UCS Super Star Destroyer held the record for a decade at 124.5 cm. Then come two trains, the Hogwarts Express and the Orient Express; the Technic Liebherr crawler crane; the 2019 UCS Imperial Star Destroyer; and the Venator, which is sold out on LEGO.com and marked as retiring.
9. Concorde (10318): 105 cm
The only plane on the list, and the cheapest way to own a top-ten set: it is still on sale at $199.99, with only 2,083 pieces.
Concorde (10318)
10. A tie: Tower Bridge and Diagon Alley
Both measure 102 cm. Tower Bridge is a 2010 classic. Diagon Alley is a whole street front, so it is long in a different way.
Honourable mentions: built to go up, not along
The tallest sets did not qualify, but deserve a nod. The 10,001-piece Eiffel Tower stands about 149 cm tall, and the retired Saturn V rocket stands over 100 cm.
How we measured: length is the longest side of the finished model as published on LEGO.com product pages (Brickset where LEGO.com no longer lists a set). Where sources disagree by a centimetre, we used LEGO.com. Checked October 10, 2026.
