Picked, not tested. Everything here is something I would buy, chosen on specs, makers and reputation rather than hands-on reviews. Some links earn us a commission at no extra cost to you; it never decides what makes the list. How we pick
Shopping for the friend who says “roll initiative” like it’s a normal sentence? This list is for the players at the table, not the Dungeon Master (they get their own guide). Every pick comes from the Tabletop & D&D page: dice worth holding, gear that protects them, the books a new player needs, and two tables for the group that plays every week.
If you only buy one thing, buy dice. Every player rolls every session, and a good set gets used for years. A $45 metal set is a safe bet. A $575 titanium set is the gift they will never forget.
Prices were checked on October 10, 2026. They will move before the holidays, so the store’s price wins.
